# AI for working professionals

Somebody told you to "use AI." Then nobody showed you how. That's the gap this track is for.

Each week I pick one ordinary task, the kind you already do on a Tuesday afternoon, and walk through it step by step. You get a prompt you can copy, and you get told straight how long it takes and what it costs.

## What's in every workflow

It starts with the job we're trying to get done. Then the numbers: time and cost, each one labeled *measured* (we timed it in a test run), *estimated* (our best guess, and we say so), or *vendor-published* (straight from the vendor's own page).

After that come the steps and a copy-paste prompt. You don't need any special prompt skills. And every workflow ends with what *not* to paste, because the privacy line is different for each task.

## Start here

1. Do the [10-minute safety setup](https://aiexplainedplainly.com/issues/001/#part-1-the-10-minute-safety-setup). It turns off "use my chats for training" in whichever assistant you use.
2. Try the [messy notes workflow](https://aiexplainedplainly.com/issues/001/#part-2-messy-notes-into-decisions-action-items-and-a-follow-up-email) on your next three meetings.
3. If your employer gives you an approved AI tool, use that one for work. Your company's policy always beats anything we say here.
